Are these Radio Microphones Easy To Fit?

Can you:

  1. Buy (or make) an XLR to XLR (ie standard microphone) lead?

  2. Plug an XLR lead into your new radio microphone receiver and connect into a spare microphone mixer input?

  3. Fit a 9V Battery?

  4. Plug it into the mains and switch on?

  5. Adjust the volume control on the front of the receiver to match levels with your other microphones?

CONGRATULATIONS YOU JUST FITTED ONE!!!

Seriously though - it really is that easy, especially if your amplifier has an XLR (balanced) input socket where a microphone would normally plug in. Some amplifiers (ie Electronic Services or DTS) are directly wired and in this case you still buy a standard XLR to XLR microphone lead but this time cut one end off. MAKE SURE that you cut the RIGHT end off!! Plug the lead into the output of the radio microphone receiver, stretch out the wire and cut the other end off. Strip back the wires and just insert into a spare microphone channel on your amplifier - follow the pattern of the existing wiring and ensure that all connections are well made and tight.
